The RSCni welcomes the start to a new academic year and looks forward to working with colleagues in the post-16 education sectors.

As the current economic climate has caused everyone to re-evaluate how they spend their budgets to ensure they are getting value for money, the RSCni is hosting a Senior Management Conference on 25 October. The focus on this day will be on shared services and how, by working together, we can generate significant financial savings.

The RSCni has brought together a prestigious panel of experts from the world of business, education and finance for the purposes of outlining the vision, opportunities and challenges facing organisations within the current economic climate.  This event will be beneficial for senior management, CEOs, Directors of Finance, Procurement Managers, IT Managers, Directors of Curriculum and shared services personnel.

Core themes for the day will include:
•    Future-proofing network and systems;
•    Bring Your Own Devices (BYOD) and mobile devices – Impact on working and learning;
•    Cloud services – what the big providers are planning next;
•    What’s next for storage?
•    Virtualisation – the next phase;
•    Managing security and legality in a changing environment;

JISC RSCni Innovation in e-Learning Awards 2013

In recognition for the considerable amount of excellent work that the post 16 educational sectors continue to do, the RSCni is hosting the second Innovation in e-Learning Awards 2013.  This event acknowledges the innovative ways in which learning providers use educational technologies within teaching and learning.

The aim of these awards is to identify, recognise and reward the many individuals and teams throughout Northern Ireland who are spearheading the development and effective use of technology to enhance teaching and learning.

The awards are open to all our providers in Higher Education, Higher Education in Further Education, Further Education, and the Training sector. The e-Learning Awards scheme invites submissions from individuals or teams at all levels of e-learning expertise and sophistication.
