bmf Business Services group (located in Maghaberry village, 20 mins from Belfast) wishes to appoint an experienced Journalist to work across several established publications, including Ireland’s leading public policy and business magazines agendaNi and eolas Magazine.
Journalist
Candidate specification:
To be considered, candidates must have:
- A formal journalism qualification OR Recent journalism experience and strong news judgment, with the ability to work calmly under pressure
- A track record in delivering original journalism
- The ability to produce strong analytical material under tight deadlines
- Interview experience
- A highly motivated, self-starting attitude
- Strong proofreading skills and the ability to write clear, concise copy for multiple platforms
- An understanding of how audiences consume content
- A detailed knowledge of politics, current affairs, and public policy in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.
- 2+ years print journalism experience, although newly-qualified journalists may be considered.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the production of original journalism and analysis.
- Conduct in-depth interviews with senior business and policy figures.
- Cover key developments in government, business, and policy-making.
- Work across digital and print platforms to deliver high-quality content.
- Ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency in all editorial work.
- Proofread publications in a timely and efficient manner.
- Actively contribute to editorial meetings.
- Provide forward planning and production support.
- Work mostly at base but on location as required.

The position offers a salary scale of £25-32k (dependent on experience) with excellent personal and career development for the right candidate. Own transport is essential. The role will be primarily based in our Maghaberry office but will require work in Dublin on a regular basis.
Hybrid working arrangement will be 4 days office, 1 day WFH (after training) and subject to business needs.

Events Executive
Location: Moira
Salary: £28k- £32k per annum
Hours: Full-Time, Permanent
agendaNi magazine is seeking to recruit an Events Executive.
This is an exciting opportunity for an organised, ambitious and enthusiastic Events Executive who enjoys variety and thrives in a fast-paced environment. Working alongside an experienced team, you’ll play a key role in delivering successful conferences and events from concept through to completion while also supporting the company’s publications.
The Role
As Events Executive, you’ll be involved in every stage of event delivery, ensuring conferences run seamlessly while maintaining excellent relationships with speakers, sponsors and delegates. No two days will be the same, offering the chance to develop your skills across events, marketing, sales and publishing.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate and deliver conferences and events from initial planning through to successful completion.
- Liaise with speakers, arranging travel, accommodation and event logistics.
- Support the Event Manager with all operational requirements during live events.
- Manage exhibition and sponsorship bookings while identifying new commercial opportunities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with sponsors, exhibitors and commercial partners.
- Develop and implement targeted marketing campaigns across digital and print platforms.
- Maintain accurate company databases and contact records.
- Provide editorial support through research, proofreading and fact-checking for publications.
- Ensure exceptional attention to detail across all aspects of event planning and delivery.

Business Development Manager
Location: Moira
Salary: Will depend on experience
Hours: Full-time, Monday–Friday- 9am-5pm
agendaNi, a leading publication based in Moira, are recruiting for a Business Development Manager to join our dynamic and growing team. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and driven individual to work alongside an experienced sales team, developing strong client relationships and driving advertising and exhibition sales across a diverse portfolio of publications and events.
Key Responsibilities:
- Proactively manage and sell advertising and exhibition space across the company’s portfolio
- Develop and maintain relationships with key decision-makers and clients
- Identify new business opportunities and negotiate new deals
- Manage existing accounts, ensuring renewals and client satisfaction
- Attend events to network and build industry relationships
- Complete all related sales administration, including client sign-off
About You:
- A genuine drive and hunger to achieve targets
- Full Driving licence and access to a Car for client visits and to attend events
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills
- Confident telephone manner and strong computer literacy
- Proven experience in B2B or media or corporate sales
- Enthusiastic team player with the motivation to meet personal goals
- Willingness to travel within Ireland as required
