Information Security Seminar
Date: Now Over
Venue: Baby Grand, Grand Opera House, Belfast
Information Security Seminar
The second seminar in the 2009/2010 programme will
examine all the issues around information security and
data protection. With an ever increasing dependence
on technology, data breaches have made big
headlines, making this a key issue for organisations
across all sectors. It is particularly crucial for
government and the public sector which is tasked with
holding and processing vast amounts of sensitive
information. In many data loss instances, the breach
could have been prevented if more adequate controls
were in place.
Key themes under discussion in the seminar include:
- The best practice approach to information security – how safe is your data?
- Managing information risk in the public sector – balancing data sharing and data protection;
- Developing effective information security policies;
- Complying with data protection regulations – understanding the boundaries and implications;
- Developments in cyber security.
An expert speaker panel has been assembled to explore all these key issues and deliver the latest thinking on compliance, security and technology. It also aims to offer practical data protection guidance and advice on areas which may affect all organisations – making processes more robust and efficient.
Networking
The seminar is structured in a way to provide a high level of interaction between speakers and delegates. There will be plentiful opportunities for questions as well as discussion in each of the sessions. In the breaks and margins of the event there will also be scope for networking and business development.
Sponsorship opportunities
There are still a number of available sponsorship
opportunities at the Information Security Seminar.
Sponsorship of this event is an excellent way for
organisations to raise their profile with a key
audience of senior decision-makers from across the
public sector. For further information on how your
