ICT in Health seminar

Education and ICTThe Northern Ireland ICT Innovation Forum is a network of organisations that are involved in using ICT to deliver public services. The Forum’s primary aim is to act as a network facilitator and, by developing a high level and forward thinking seminar programme, bring a focus to best practice within the sector.

The fourth seminar in the 2009/2010 programme will examine all the issues around the role of technology in helping to deliver health services. In the 21st century, the convergence of biology and engineering is turning healthcare into an information industry.

Key themes under discussion in the seminar include:

  • IT-driven innovations in healthcare;
  • Supporting and developing new technologies;
  • The role of telehealth in managing chronic illness;
  • Investing in healthcare infrastructure;
  • Improving community based health;
  • Patient involvement in healthcare
  • Case studies: Transforming healthcare through technology

An expert speaker panel has been assembled to explore all these key issues and deliver the latest thinking on how ICT can revolutionise healthcare delivery and lead to better patient care overall.
